  1. I was booked in before lockdown for a Titleist Thursday event but sadly got cancelled and I have just booked in for a Titleist fitting event this week. My question is what is the difference or are they pretty the same thing. I have booked 3 hours for both as want a full set of clubs. Do I have to purchase on the day or can I just get specs and purchase from anyone I like? Any answers would be grateful.

  2. While it's difficult not to get caught up in the moment and the lure of shiny new clubs, there's nobody twisting your arm to buy.
My local supplier charges for the fitting session regardless if you buy or not.
Given the investment in set-up and maintenance of a high quality fitting studio, it's not surprising.

    Hi Richard

I attended a couple of Titleist Thursdays last year, the guys will give you a printed sheet of their recomentations as well as sending you an email. There is no hard sell on the day and you can go to your own pro shop and order from there if you like.

Enjoy your fitting the Titleist staff are great.

  4. Thank you as glad no pressure to buy, even though I will get full set it’s nice to take time and make sure I get the best deal and price. Who knows I may buy something on the day if they give me a good deal. I have heard the Titleist staff are good and think it’s bloke called Tim Baker doing the fittings. Going to be good and an eye opening 3 hours of testing clubs, I can’t wait. You cant fault Titleist doing free fittings and I think free at St Ives too now for a while.

    Richard,

One thing you might find is that whoever is hosting the fitting might get a deal so it's worth asking.

I normally get a friend who's a pro to get my clubs as he always beats the best online price but he couldn't match the deal I got on my TS2 hybrid from the club that hosted the Titleist Thursday... It was considerably cheaper than the best online.

Best of luck with the fitting and get it in before another lockdown ...LOL.

  6. Haha exactly why I'm not wasting time getting them. Plan is get fitted and order them before winter and 2nd wave hits so at least I can look at them Haha. I'm sure Titleist are trying to gain back custom and they will have deals ready for us fans.

As above, it’s up to the individual who he chooses to order his stuff from.

Me personally I’ve always just went through Titleist/ my local pro there and then.
I’ve always had a fantastic deal and service is 2nd to none!!
There has also been a few extras inside the delivery ️‍♂️

I have been to a couple of Titleist Thursdays and used them to refine my initial thoughts. I then went to St Ives for a full bag fitting as you have a dedicated session there, using your ball of choice which I think is critical.
Either way the service is always exemplary and you’ll get a great recommendation.
  9. I can’t wait now, what extras were in the delivery haha? I’m looking forward to it as just before lockdown my Titleist Thursday full bag fitting was cancelled, so I’ve had to wait months to purchase all hat shiny new stuff. Only thing is that I think a new driver is coming out in September so do I wait?

I would recommend going to the fitting studio personally but the Team that put in the Titleist Thursdays are all very experienced as well.

Try and enjoy it and swing easy !

If you get the chance go to the National Fitting Centre at St Ives in Cambridgeshire. It’s a brilliant experience, you get your specs. emailed to you and then you’re free to shop around. Don’t underestimate your local Pro Shop as they are usually members of a buying group and will price match or beat AG. I’ve always found the service and support to be top notch too.
  12. I was going to go to St Ives but it’s a long trek from where I am. So booked into Mendip spring for a 3 hour fitting and full bag. I will get specs emailed or me and then straight to my local pro to buy them unless an amazing offer on the day.

    Mallow,

At a fitting day for Irons, is it 7 iron head only that you test from each model?
Or can you try the longest and shortest irons also once you find the best head/shaft combination?
And does the same apply at Thursday events?
    Cheers.

I’ve attended both and each start with hitting a series of 7 iron heads

Once you have settled on head and shaft you then move on to hit a 5 iron and lower wedges to work out what gaps etc you need at both ends of the bag
