  1. I bought a set of irons two days ago and suspect they are not genuine AP3s.

Please have a look and tell me what you think. Thank you.

  3. James,
What makes you suspect that they aren't pukka?
    I've got 5,6 & 7 in AP3 718 and I have to say, they don't look like those.
Mine are chromed on the back. Could yours have been stripped??
Also, mine have a seven digit number etched on the hozel (possibly a reference to the original order) Is there any sign of similar marks on yours? It could help with tracing but I don't think it's necessarily a clincher.

Not sure from the pictures, what makes you think that they may be fake? Where did you buy them?
  5. Some more pictures; including serial number on 6 iron.

@JT TITLEISTUSER, @SAnderson - I suspect their not genuine as they match the description given in these links:

Wanted to see what the Titleist forum thought.

    Thanks.

Looking at the numbering they do look different compared up the pic from Golfshot.com website.
Where did you buy them from?

    Autocorrect should have been golfalot.com

  8. The traits that make me suspect they aren't genuine are:
    - Font used for 6 - the pictures I've seen of AP3s on Titleist.com have a sharp 6, these have more of a rounded 6
    - The grips are the grips mentioned in the YouTube video as a marker of not being genuine
    - Seem too well worn, metal seems too soft, doesn't have chrome finish mentioned by @JT TITLEISTUSER
    - serial number does not appear to have the correct font
    - matchs details from above YouTube video and golfwrx forums on fake AP3s

I bought through a 'buy and sell' website from a private seller.

    Thanks for the comments.
  9. Hopefully you can get your money back

Think the consensus is “probably” not genuine... sorry

Surprised to see them grips and shafts On a AP3 head. From what I can see I would be seeking a refund.

I feel your pain, there's nothing worse than paying good money for a set of clubs and having that nagging doubt that they may be copies.
A similar thing happened to me, I purchased a lovely set of 718 AP2s on eBay and when I received them, they looked really good, but there were a few little things including the price that I suspected they may be fake, I showed them to my club professional who did nothing but raise my anxiety levels even more suggesting they didn't feel right!
I contacted Titleist and spoke to someone in their club fitting dept. the first guy I spoke to fobbed me off and told me to fill in the counterfeit product notice and expect a reply - nothing happened.
I then spoke with another guy, who was really helpful, he arranged for the clubs to be collected from my local Titleist Pro shop, they were returned to Titleist and sent back to me a week later with a letter confirming they were genuine.
Just another example of the fantastic level of service you can get from Titleist, maybe you should give them a call to see if they can help you? it will take the uncertainty and confirm if your purchase is genuine or not.
    Hope this helps
    Regards
    David
