  1. On yet another steaming day in Cornwall (UK) I was feeling proud of myself having made a two early in the round. So I was in the money when my regular foursome arrived at Porthpeans fifteenth hole. The hole is a challenge to senior high handicappers, it is over a 150 yard major depression and slightly up hill with a solid tree line on the left-hand side. two of the previous players were on the green (we stick the the same playing order and I always go last) Taking my 19 degree H2 I launched my ball into a breeze and watched as it tumbled down the hill side beyond the green without coming into view and predicted that my number eight Pro v was in the hole. With a prediction better than Nostradamous there was my ball nestling in the bottom of the hole. I don't think the money for my two will cover the bar bill!

  2. Congratulations!

I still await my first hole in one on a par 3 - despite 35 years of trying. I did manage one on a par 4 with a 1-iron - like you I didn’t see it go in the hole as all I could see was the club captains backside as he was putting at the time!

awesome, im yet to get my first but ive been real close on 3 occassions, if it ever happens i really want it to be with a card in my hand and a good one at that! setting the bar high! haha
  4. Well done.... I do love a post with a happy ending.
We have 4 x par 3's at my club but despite the number of opportunities on offer, multiplied by the number of times I've played, I've never aced one...
Come to think of it, I've had thousands of opportunities at courses all over the country and abroad and still not one one have I recorded on my own card.
I have witnessed and marked down several mis-hits from playing partners that have found a way to the bottom of the cup but have never ever managed to fluke one myself....

Still, statistically, on the optimistic side, the odds must be reducing into my favour by now... So I am confidently expecting one to turn up.... eventually.
