A Record-Breaking Performance by Henrik Stenson at the Wyndham Championship

Titleist golf ball loyalist Henrik Stenson (Pro V1) captured the Wyndham Championship, closing with a 6-under-par 64 for a one shot victory at the final event of the PGA TOUR’s regular season schedule.

Stenson, who made four birdies in a five-hole stretch over the final nine, posted a 22-under-par 258 victory total, setting a new 72-hole scoring record at Sedgefield Country Club.

Stenson topped a leaderboard that included nine players among the 12 finishing in the top 10 and ties who relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success.

Titleist Brand Ambassador Webb Simpson (Pro V1) closed with a 67 to finish in solo 3rd place with an 18-under-par 262 total.

Three Titleist players tied for 4th, another shot back, including Titleist Brand Ambassador Kevin Na (Pro V1, 917D3/9.5 driver, 915F/13.5/18.0 fairway metals, 816H2/21 hybrid, 716 T-MB 4-iron, 716 AP2/5-PW, Vokey Design SM6 sand/54 and TVD-K grind lob/60 wedge, Scotty Cameron Newport 2 SS putter) and Titleist golf ball loyalists Ryan Armour (Pro V1x) and Rory Sabbatini (Pro V1x).

Titleist Brand Ambassador Martin Flores (Pro V1, 917D3 driver, 915F fairway metals, AP2 irons, Vokey Design SM6 wedges) fired a final round 63 which included a hole-in-one on the par 3 16th, and vaulted him 21 positions into the top 125 for the season.

The win marks the 6th PGA TOUR title for Stenson, the most of any player from Sweden. This is also his 21st worldwide crown and he rises to No. 6 in the Official World Golf Rankings as he looks ahead to the start of the FedExCup Playoffs, which begin next week at The Northern Trust. (Stenson captured the FedExCup title in 2013).

“It's the first step and delighted to get a win this year,” Stenson said. “If you get hot and keep on playing well, certainly a chance to challenge for the overall (FedExCup title). We won here this week and a full four FedExCup Playoffs tournaments coming up. We want to get close to winning it again, we have to carry on and keep on playing very solid.”

Congratulations, Henrik!
