Cantlay and Feng Lead 7-Win Week for Titleist

The winning ways continue for Titleist this week, as Titleist Brand Ambassadors and golf ball loyalists combined for seven more titles around the globe.

Titleist golf ball players have now recorded 187 victories across the worldwide professional tours, more than six times the nearest competitor with 28.

To date this season, the game's finest players have relied on a Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball 24,818 times, nearly seven times the nearest competitor with 3,647 and more than all competitors combined.

Leading the way this week, Titleist Brand Ambassador Patrick Cantlay (Pro V1x) parred the second hole of a three-man, all-Titleist golf ball playoff for his first career PGA Tour title at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. Cantlay closed with 67 to join the playoff with fellow Titleist Pro V1x players Alex Cejka and Whee Kim at 9-under 275.

Titleist Brand Ambassadors J.T. PostonPatton Kizzire and Chesson Hadley tied for 4th, one shot out of the playoff as each of the top six finishers and 10 of the 15 who finished among the top 10 and ties relied upon a Pro V1 or Pro V1x for their success in Las Vegas.

Titleist was once again the overwhelming golf ball choice at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, with 110 players trusting a Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, more than seven times the nearest competitor with 15 and more than all competitors combined.*

Titleist was also the top choice among players in the hybrids category (27) as well as the irons category with 42 sets in play. Vokey Design Wedges also topped the approach, sand and lob wedge (180) category and Scotty Cameron putters were the top choice among players with 56 putters in play.*

On the LPGA Tour, it was a 1-2 Titleist golf ball finish at the TOTO Japan Classic where defending champion Shanshan Feng (Pro V1x) closed with a 4-under par 68 to edge Ai Suzuki (Pro V1x) by two shots. This marks the second victory of the year for Feng, who won the LPGA Volvik Championship in May. She is the first golfer on the LPGA Tour to successfully defend a title in 2017.

Titleist was the top choice in golf balls at the TOTO Japan Classic, with 46 players trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x, more than 4 times the nearest competitor with 11. Titleist golf ball loyalists have accumulated 23 wins this season on the LPGA Tour, more than four times the nearest competitor with 5.

In Japan, Titleist golf ball loyalist Chan Kim (Pro V1x) shot a final round 2-under-par 69 en route to a 6-under-par 278 victory total to win the Heiwa PGM Championship by one stroke, claiming his third Japan Tour victory this year. Kim advances to the top of the JGTO money list with the victory with four events remaining on the season.

Titleist was the top choice in golf balls with 60, more than twice the nearest competitor with 26. Eight of the top 10 finishers relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success.

It was a home game for Titleist golf ball loyalist Shiv Kapur (Pro V1x ), who closed with a 4-under-par 68 en route to a 17-under-par 271 total to win the Panasonic Open India. Kapur, who grew up playing on this Delhi GC, finished three shots clear of seven players and he topped a leaderboard on which each of the top 10 finishers relied upon Titleist golf balls for theirs success.

The win is Kapur’s second title of the year and the third of his Asian Tour career..

At the CAIDO Series Tour Championship, Titleist golf ball loyalist GoWoong Choi (Pro V1x) fired a final round 6-under-par 64 to capture his first career victory on the Korean PGA Tour. Choi's 11-under-par 269 total put him two shots clear of nearest rival, Titleist Brand Ambassador MinChel Choi (Pro V1x).

Titleist was the most played golf ball at the event with 73 players relying on a Pro V1 or Pro V1x, more than six times the nearest competitor with 11.

On the South African Sunshine Tour, Titleist golf ball loyalist Jaco Prinsloo (Pro V1x) earned his first career win when he closed with an even -ar 72 en route to a 16-under-par victory total at the Vodacom Origins of Golf final. Prinsloo, who placed third last week, finished one stroke clear of fellow Titleist golf ball loyalist Ockie Strydom (Pro V1).

Titleist Brand Ambassador Keenan Davidse (Pro V1x) and Titleist golf ball loyalist Zander Lombard (Pro V1) claimed a share of 4th place, three shots back.

Titleist was the top choice in golf balls at the event with 89 players trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x, more than four times the nearest competitor with 19.

And finally, Australia’s James Marchesani, relying on the Titleist Pro V1x golf ball, converted a six-foot birdie putt on the final hole to win the PGA Tour China’s Clearwater Bay Open, the first of his professional career. Marchesani fired four consecutive rounds in the 60’s, including a closing 3-under-par 67 en route to a 7-under-par 273 victory total, one shot clear of runner-up Callum Tarren (Pro V1).

Titleist was the most trusted ball at the Clearwater Bay Open, with 75 players relying on a Pro V1 or Pro V1x, nearly seven times the nearest competitor with 11.
