Jaeger Punches Ticket to PGA TOUR with Rust-Oleum Championship Victory

Titleist golf ball loyalist Stephan Jaeger (Pro V1) posted his second victory in three starts Sunday at the Rust-Oleum Championship in Ivanhoe, Illinois.

Jaeger closed with a 1-under-par 71 en route to a 14-under-par 274 victory total, two shots clear of his nearest competitor.

He becomes the first player of the 2017 Web.com Tour season to win twice, moves to No. 1 on the season-long money list and locks up his PGA TOUR card for next season.

He will also be playing in this week’s U.S. Open after winning his sectional qualifier last Monday.

“This feels fantastic, honestly,” Said Jaeger. “I can’t wait to get started next week, going to the U.S. Open. It’s going to be a tough week. It’s going to probably be a lot of chipping out, a lot of fast, firm greens. Kind of like this week, honestly. The greens were fast, they were firm, and probably be pretty good preparation for next week.”

This is Jaeger’s third career Web.com Tour victory with his previous two coming in the 54-hole shortened BMW Charity Pro-Am in May and at the Ellie Mae Classic at TPC Stonebrae last August, where he broke the 18, 36, 54 and 72-hole scoring records on the Web.com Tour.

Congratulations, Stephan!

TITLEIST BY THE NUMBERS

Titleist was the most played golf ball at the BMW Charity Pro-Am with 111 players relying on Pro V1 or Pro V1x, nearly seven times the nearest competitor with 16.

Titleist was also the top choice in irons with 45 sets in play and Vokey Design Wedges topped the approach, sand and lob wedge (201) category.

Jaeger’s win marks the 9th for Titleist players through the first 11 events on the 2017 Web.com Tour.
