Late charge seals first LPGA Tour crown for Masson

Titleist golf ball loyalist Caroline Masson (Pro V1x) earned her first career LPGA Tour crown, breaking out of a pack to win the LPGA Manulife Classic by one shot over three players, including fellow Titleist golf ball loyalist Karine Icher (Pro V1x).

The 27-year-old German rebounded from a slow start to make nine birdies at Whistle Bear GC in Cambridge, Ontario en route to a closing 5-under-par 67 and 16-under-par 272 victory total.

"I doubled the first hole and from then on just kind of, well, 'There's no pressure,” explained Masson after the win. “You don't have to feel any pressure to win or do anything. Just keep making birdies.' And that's what I did all day. I tried to stay relaxed out there, enjoy it. It's such a beautiful day and such a beautiful golf course. It's unbelievable that it really worked out in the end.”

Icher fired a final round 66 to race up the leaderboard in her runner-up performance.

Titleist golf ball loyalist Ariya Jutanugarn (Pro V1x), in her bid to win three straight events for the second time this season, was among three players who tied for 5th at 14-under-par 274.

TITLEIST BY THE NUMBERS
