Major Breakthrough for Sung Hyun Park at U.S. Women’s Open

“I have had a lot of wins, but winning here at the U.S. Open means so much more.”

These were the words of Titleist golf ball loyalist Sung Hyun Park (Pro V1x), who posted a pair of 5-under-par 67’s on the weekend and came from behind to capture her first LPGA Tour victory and first major championship at the U.S. Women’s Open.

Park, whose nickname on Tour is Dak Gong (an informal phrase meaning “Shut up and attack”) charged to an 11-under-par 277 victory total at Trump National in Bedminster, NJ, two shots clear of her nearest competitor, an amateur.

“Not like other Koreans, I am more aggressive in my game,” Park said. “I focus on my attack and being aggressive. And I like that name.”

In fact, Park topped a leaderboard on which every one of the top 10 finishers relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success.

Congratulations, Sung Hyun!

TITLEIST BY THE NUMBERS

This week at the 72nd staging of the U.S. Women's Open, 119 players trusted a Pro V1 or Pro V1x for their success. That’s nearly 12 times the nearest competitor with 10 and more than all competitors combined.

Park’s victory marks the 16th for Titleist golf ball players through the first 19 events on the 2017 LPGA Tour, eight times the nearest competitor with 2.
