Spieth’s Dramatic Hole-out Seals Playoff Victory at The Travelers

“I don't know how many or if I'll ever have a moment equivalent to that again. Something like that to win a tournament. But, yeah, that was very memorable, and I certainly soaked it in.”

These were the words Titleist Brand Ambassador Jordan Spieth (New Pro V1x) used to describe the dramatic 60-foot greenside bunker shot that he holed for birdie on the first extra hole of a sudden death playoff to capture the Travelers Championship.

“It took a little right bounce and cut spin,” said Spieth of the shot afterward, “and it rolled up the hole. I jumped up and saw it coming right down on the pin. And I went nuts. That was fun.”

Spieth’s good friend, Titleist Brand Ambassador Justin Thomas, proved prophetic, tweeting out the following moments before Spieth clinched the win:

And if you missed it, here’s the shot that will never be forgotten in Cromwell, CT.

This marked the second win of the season for Spieth, who also won at the AT&T Pebble Beach in February.

The 23-year-old, who was making his first appearance at The Travelers, led wire-to-wire, owning a one-shot lead after each of the first three rounds. His 7-under-par 63 on Thursday was the lowest opening round of his PGA Tour career.

He was tied on the 15th and then again on the 17th on Sunday as both playoff participants finished regulation play at 12-under-par 268.

He becomes just the third player in the history of the event to win in wire-to-wire fashion and the first to do at TPC River Highlands.

With the win, Spieth becomes just the second player in PGA TOUR history with 10 victories before the age of 24 – all while trusting Titleist equipment from tee-through-green. Click here to see what's in Jordan's bag.

Titleist Brand Ambassadors Charley Hoffman (Pro V1) closed with a 4-under-par 66 to finish in a tie for 3rd place, two shots back.

Congratulations, Jordan!
