With his ball sitting 10 feet away from history, Titleist golf ball loyalist Stephan Jaeger collected his thoughts, gave the putt a final read and then sent his Pro V1 rolling toward the hole.
“That putt went in and it went in a little fast for my liking,” said Jaeger moments after signing his record setting scorecard.
And when it found the bottom of the cup, history was made as Jaeger became the first player to ever record a 58 in a PGA TOUR, Web.com Tour, European Tour or PGA TOUR Champions event.
“Obviously you know that number is going to come into your head. It was pretty much in my head the whole back nine,” added Jaeger.
The path to 58 featured 12 birdies, 6 pars and zero bogeys.
Congratulations, Stephan! What an amazing round.
