The Winning Setup: Daniel Nisbet at the Clearwater Bay Open

“That’s the fastest my heart has ever been beating on a golf course. It was just so exciting.”

So said Titleist Brand Ambassador Daniel Nisbet (Pro V1) after he eagled the first hole of a sudden death playoff to capture the Clearwater Bay Open and his first career PGA TOUR China crown.

“I knew that if I controlled the speed of the putt that it would go in,” Nisbet said of the ten-foot putt that sealed the victory. “I was a little bit excited as I put a good score together and then found out I was in a playoff, so there were a lot of emotions running through my body.”

The Aussie, who started the day four shots off the lead, closed with a 6-under-par 64 to finish with a 15-under-par 265 total in regulation.

Titleist golf ball loyalist Charlie Saxon (Pro V1x) fired a final round 5-under-par 65 to race up the leaderboard and finish solo third, one shot out of the playoff.

Nisbet topped a leaderboard that included eight Titleist players among the 11 who finished in the top 10 and ties.

Congratulations, Daniel!
