“Just to win, to know that I can do it again at 62 is pretty amazing. It was a great week.”
These were the words of Titleist Brand Ambassador Jay Haas (Pro V1) , who at 62 years 10 months and 7 days, became the second oldest-ever winner on the PGA Tour Champions.
Haas edged Titleist golf ball loyalist Bart Bryant (Pro V1x) with a birdie on the first hole of a sudden death playoff to capture the Toshiba Classic.
Haas posted rounds of 64-63 in the first two rounds at Newport Beach Country Club en route to a 16-under-par 197 total in regulation.
Bryant matched that 54-hole score by firing a final round 64 to reach the playoff.
Titleist golf ball loyalist Billy Andrade (Pro V1) tied for 3rd after closing with a 5-under-par 65, two shots out of the playoff.
The win marked the 18th for Haas on the PGA TOUR Champions, and his first since 2014.
