Will these little gems be released for the whole country at the PGA show? Will there be custom options?
  2. I have been a die hard Pro V1 user for years. I was given a sleeve of the new AVX's to try at my home course. I REALLY hope you're going to continue with this ball. My distance has improved throughout my bag but especially with my driver and 4 wood. And yet my ability to back the ball up on the green is just as good as with the Pro v's. Incredible ball thanks.

Picked up my second dozen, this time in yellow. I reported earlier that I thought the AVT was a "little longer" than the ProV-1 I normally play, but after having the opportunity to play now 3 full rounds with it, I find myself consistently hitting from places nearer the greens than I'm familiar with, and on courses that I've had the opportunity to play several times. The icing on the cake came today at the par 3, 7th hole, Slammer & Squire course at the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine. A 128 yard PW in-the-hole for my 4th life-time ace. First one with a yellow ball though.... If you're a Pro-V fan looking for a yellow ball, I think this might be it!
  4. I've been playing the AVX since getting a box from my Pro is late November. I really like the ball. Its certainly longer off the driver and feels great everywhere else. Second round with it, I shot a 73 which is really good for a 7 handicap.

Please produce this ball and I love the optic yellow!
  5. Received a couple of the AVX Yellow from a friend. Wow, Impressive. Played three rounds over the weekend and have been very impressed. Longest ball I have played in quite a while. Still has good feel around the greens and has soft touch off the putter. Look forward to more time with this ball. Making the switch from cally Chrome Soft and believe the feel is similar but the distance much better.

Been playing the AVX yellow for the last couple of months and really do like the ball. The issue for me is the price point vs. the balls that I view as competitors. I used to primarily play ProV/X's , but have really taken a liking to the Chromesoft X. And while there are certainly differences between the AVX and Chromesoft X, I think they play very similarly (at least that I can tell as a 4 handicap). So if/when the AVX ever hits the full market, I would make my purchase decision between the AVX and Chromesoft X based on price.

Is the AVX coming on the market or is the new tour soft going to be the new ball. How does the tour soft compare to the AVX?
  8. I started using the AVX on a visit to Florida over Thanksgiving. I really liked them from the start. I have slower swing speed (90-95 mph) but I liked the feel and the additional 5-10 yards. I was getting more distance than the NXT Tour S that I played in Arizona at altitude. I bought three dozen then and have purchased several dozen more. If I find that Titleist won’t continue these balls I will buy every dozen I can snag.
Thay are longer and very durable. I am not too clear on the pricing; I recall paying a couple of bucks less than Pro v’s. I saw a comment above that suggested they were priced above. Not sure that’s true or sensible.
TITLEIST, IF YOU ARE LISTENING, PLEASE ADD THIS BALL TO YOUR LINEUP.
  9. Living in The Villages,Florida(or Heaven as we call it) I play 18 holes four times a week. I have always played the Titleist ProV since it’s inception. I am currently playing to an 8 handicap, but when the revised numbers come out on the 30th, I know I will have dropped a stroke!! Why??? One reason:” the Titleist AVX golf ball”....After playing this ball for one month, I can describe the experience in four words”OH MY DEAR LORD”....10-20 yards added distance with my Epic Driver, & a very strong one club distance with my irons...spin is very consistent to the ProV...I am currently buying a new dozen every week from my allotted “golf money” from the Queen fearing that Titleist will soon cease production of this wonderful ball since it is only available in three states: Florida, California, and Arizona. Pls start producing this golf ball nationwide Titleist, if so, it soon will be the number played ball in America!!

I just returned from PGA Village in Port St Lucie where I tried a sleeve of the AVX prototype golf balls. The ball was hot off the Driver face, adding a few yards past my normal Prov1 distance. It held very nicely on the hard and fast greens and rolled true on the putts. I will be very interested to try again if they go on sale back home in MA
  11. I'm a ProV1x guy, but I decided to give the yellow AVX a swing on the course. Me thoughts:

Putting (Odyssey O-Works Anser-style putter): Seems to have a less clicky sound than the ProV1. Not really dramtically different in feel. Might be a bit softer.

Chipping/Pitching (SM6): I felt that the ProV1x had more stopping power. AVX was definitely softer off the face.

Wedges (SM6): The AVX was longer in carry and seemed to spin less. I tend to pull the ball back a few feet on my home course and the AVX more or less stayed where it landed unless I tried hard to spin it. With the ProV1x on some greens I have to try to take some spin off.

Irons (3- PW 716 CB, DG AMT shafts. png Eye2 2 iron): Same as above. Honestly not impressed with its stopping power with a 7-iron. Distance gains shrink as clubs get longer. Felt really good and soft with the cast Eye2.

Woods (915 D3 driver, 8.5 degrees, PX Hzrdus Black 75g. 917 F3 15 degrees, Mitsubishi White 80g): No difference that can be seen with the naked eye.

Course impression: Great feel and performance for those looking for a soft ball. Definitely recommend them foe those who struggle with high spin on short irons and wedges. You do sacrifice a bit of greenside control, but it isn't much. Not recommended for those who game tour balls and can exert some control over spin.

Launch Monitor: Unfortunately, I don't have access to a top-notch launch monitor. The golf shop near my house has one that calculates spin. If my home course is empty I'll whip out some stickers and my Mevo to see if I can't get some numbers.
  12. Played the AVX on a recent golf trip to AZ. Really like this ball!

I've had the opportunity to play the new AVX ball and I am very impressed. The ball does seem to add additional yardage in the cold conditions we are experiencing this year in Virginia (5-10 yards) and it definitely has a soft feel. The only down side that I've experienced is putting the AVX. The soft feel is very soft and doesn't seem to feel or sound like the Pro V1x I normally play.
  14. Received a dozen from a friend in Florida. Played three rounds and I'm in serious lust here. Not sure of the construction but these balls are GREAT! Control and still easy to hit around the green with enough spin control to attack the pin with confidence. Found an online retail source and bought two dozen more just to have them ready when it gets really hot in Texas. Seems as if these are a Pro V1 type ball with a bit of Tour Soft rolled in. Regardless, I like this ball a lot and, while a lower price would always be nice, I'm anxious to see if they get enough good vibes from users in FL, AZ and La La Land to get mass produced.

I tried the AVX and also gave a sleeve to my Aunt and Uncle on a recent golf trip to FLA. I liked the ball it definitely had a softer feel and the ball flight was on the higher side for me (similar to the PRO V1 X). I did not note any appreciable gain in distance over the X which is what I play. I did like the feel and it performed well around the greens.
My aunt on the other hand (18 HCP in her 60's) loved the ball and did get more distance on all her shots and had her best round in months playing this ball.

I've played AVX since it came out- a great mix between the V1 & X- I love it- only question is will Titleist keep in their line ( I've bought 20 dozen to be safe :O)- an aside- have a higher hcp friend who loves the new Tour Soft!!

Was able to purchase a dozen and have been playing them for a couple months. I am really surprised with the distance gain compared to the ProV1. They don't spin and check as quickly on the green but the difference appears slight to me. I am definitely a fan and feel the AVX fits my game better than any other ball I've played. Hope it makes it to full release soon.

Bought a box in North Carolina and have been hitting them sparingly. Love the feel and distance. Hit them a bit better than the ProV1. Would defiantly purchase more if available.

My usual ball is the Pro V1x but I was provided an AVX and played the last three rounds with it and found it to be slightly better for me than my normal ball. When I use up the Pro V1x balls in the dozen I have I will most likely switch if they are still available as there is no price difference at my course.
  20. 13 HC. Been playing TM Project(a) for two years. Got some NXT’s in yellow for winter/lighter fairways, then saw the yellow AVX in the Pro Shop. Tried them and instantly added 5-10 yards to my 6-PW. Good around the greens and great off the tee with driver. Long. Went back in after the round and scooped up the last three sleeves. Hope to see these online soon so I can order some in white with some customization. Highly recommend!!
