I got them last week. The feel, look is just like the ProV1 I am used to but seems like it is more durable as the wear doesn't show after I played two rounds already with the same ball. I am not good enough a player to notice the finer points like spin and stop capabilities of the new balls compared to the old.

Thank you very much for creating better and better balls.

Just wondering if it when will you be sending out the #2019 proto balls. Thank you, Bill
  8. Got got sleeve of the Red numbered prototypes. Initially putting and chipping around the practice green they felt very similar to a ProV1x. They feel soft and consistent off the putter and spun well when hit with the 60• Vokey. When I put it into play on the course I noticed a slightly higher degree of workability than I usually get from the 1x’s with my irons. Where I saw the biggest difference was with my woods, and long irons. The ball seemed to have a more intense and higher takeoff and seemed to have a more piercing ball flight. I was very happy with how they played and give a big shoutout to Team Titleist for the opportunity to play the new ball!

  9. Received these balls in the mail a few days ago. Loved the way they felt off my putter and held the line. Chips with them were solid and what I usually expect out of my normal ball.

Looking forward to getting out on course with these ASAP

I had two match play matches this week and used the 2019 proto golf balls. I won both matches . The proto ball performed great had some of my longest drives were good checking up on green and I putted lights out. Can't wait till that on the market
  11. I received the 2019 Photo red. Played 3 rounds so far and absolutely love them. Longer off the tee and stops quicker on the greens. It does have a little different feel at impact, maybe a bit softer. I was able to work to ball left and right with ease. Overall, I think they have taken the best ball on the market and made it even better.
  12. I was able to have the privilege to get a sleeve of the new 2019 Protos. I also thought they were high off the tee and with longer irons. Great check up on chips and good roll with putts. I usually hit ProV1X which I have to say I still prefer after hitting the protos. Still a good ball however.
  13. Hoping the mailman delivers some prototypes to me as well

Is there any chance of receiving a sleeve of the 2019 prototype golf balls to try and give my feedback on team titleist.
  15. I got the white box with three balls in there how do I tell if I have the red or the black everything on my golfball is written in black so I’m guessing I have the proV1 if the number was red I have the proV1X is that correct

Played the 2019 prototype (red) yesterday at Taconic Golf Club. The ball seemed a bit longer, checked up very nicely and after 18 appeared new. The finish on the ball feels different...in a good way. Well done Titleist!
  17. The ball was great, but seemed to putt a little more firmer than the prov1 I'm used to
  18. Played 2 rounds with the 2019 Proto. Let me start out by saying my regular ball is a Pro V1, not the Pro V1 x. The dimple pattern on the Proto looked more like an X to me, but I soldiered on.

Driver: Ball jumped of the club face, and I felt I was gaining a few yards distance wise.

Irons: Good spin on crisp iron shots. First round was on very firm greens and the ball seemed to check up nicely. Second round was played on softer greens, and the amount of spin was noticeably greater.

Chipping/short approach: Ball felt nice and soft, responded well to check and bounce type shots.

Putting: Felt the same as any ProV.

I liked the ball. One draw back for me was the ability to make it draw or fade with the same amount of curve that I'm used to. I'm a normally right to left player.

THIS! This is music to my ears. Made a reluctant switch to the TP5x, at the suggestion of my fitter, and have hope for the day that Titleist releases an updated ball. Many fall and early winter golf outings planned- would love to provide feedback!
  20. Let me start by stating that my handicap is 36. This year I have experimented with quite a few different balls. cally Supersofts and Chromesofts, TM project (s), and Titleist DT Trusoft. My thought process being a softer ball would spin less off the tee and help control my hook/slice and keep the balls in play. Last season I played mostly used Pro V1’s which I bought at the pro shop. I got used to the softer mushy feeling balls. A few rounds ago I played a Pro V1 in good condition that I found. It felt like I was hitting a rock. The ball flight was good but it felt so hard. Fast forward to today. I decided I was going to use my #2019Proto balls with the red number. They had a great feel with the driver off the tee and every club in my bag. I was definitely hitting longer and straighter drives today. I gave one to a friend and he loved it too. I really like everything about this ball. The durability seemed good. I hit one cart path and the scuff is pretty small. My only question is what is the difference between the black and red balls? I definitely want to buy some of the same ball I played today. I shot a 93 and my previous best round was a 103. I know that the ball did not take 10 strokes off my game but it certainly didn’t hurt it. I am really impressed. Thank you Titleist for giving me the opportunity to test these balls.

Interesting, the red 1 is the new X. It will feel firmer than the 2017/2019 V's. The V you found may have been earlier than the 2017 model and it would feel harder than the current V as well. The dimple design will impact side spin more than the core softness. The urethane/tour model from any vendor regardless of compression will spin more than others. You may want to try the Tour Soft and Velocity to see if you find more fairways. Although nothing works better than setup lessons and making sure the driver is fit to minimize dispersion.
