Let me start by stating that my handicap is 36. This year I have experimented with quite a few different balls. cally Supersofts and Chromesofts, TM project (s), and Titleist DT Trusoft. My thought process being a softer ball would spin less off the tee and help control my hook/slice and keep the balls in play. Last season I played mostly used Pro V1’s which I bought at the pro shop. I got used to the softer mushy feeling balls. A few rounds ago I played a Pro V1 in good condition that I found. It felt like I was hitting a rock. The ball flight was good but it felt so hard. Fast forward to today. I decided I was going to use my #2019Proto balls with the red number. They had a great feel with the driver off the tee and every club in my bag. I was definitely hitting longer and straighter drives today. I gave one to a friend and he loved it too. I really like everything about this ball. The durability seemed good. I hit one cart path and the scuff is pretty small. My only question is what is the difference between the black and red balls? I definitely want to buy some of the same ball I played today. I shot a 93 and my previous best round was a 103. I know that the ball did not take 10 strokes off my game but it certainly didn’t hurt it. I am really impressed. Thank you Titleist for giving me the opportunity to test these balls.
