    Hey Team Titleist,

It's time for another Quick Poll and this time we'd like to hear your thoughts on golf ball performance. A great golf ball has to do it all, from tee to green, but if you rank all the qualities that you demand from your ball, which attribute is your top priority?

Vote for your top choice below and feel free to share your feedback in the comments.

Voted for versatility because for my skill level I don't feel I could honestly isolate that many facets of a balls performance.

    Consistency.
Consistency to me has to cover all the aspects in the above poll.

Distance off the tee plus a bit of stopping on the green please.

For me it's versatility! I want my ball of choice to perform well for every part of my game, why would I settle for anything less.

Their all soooooo important. But zi went with feel. And it all has to do with the short game. The better it feels to me, the more confidence I seem to have. The more confidence, the better my short game.

I went with feel, but just as easily could have gone with workability. I draw the ball or fade it, depending on circumstance. Both the ProV1 and X are great for workability.
  9. I chose feel as well, but agree with Steve S. that there are several important factors. I also agree that if the ball feels good on the short shots then I feel better about my game.

All good answers but has to be feel from my perspective. While off the tee and thru the fairway, feel is important, but on and around the green, it is the one factor I chose when picking the AVX. Even parted ways with my old putter with an insert to go with a Scotty select 2.5 because I loved the AVX and the putter I had before made the AVX feel mushy when I putted.

    Just my 2 cents.

I agree that they are all good and all important. The reason I picked feel is that I'm mostly a feel player. I know by feel when something isn't right from hitting with irons or driver to putting. Like there probably isn't much real difference between the ProV and the X but I have used the X for several years and without looking can "feel" the difference with the Pro V if I use it. Plus being boring, I tend to stick with what works and what "feel's" the best for me. MAYBE one could perform a little better than the X, but confidence is gained when it feels right.

Consistency is important to me. The main reason I play Titleist is consistency from ball to ball, dozen to dozen.

My first reaction was "feel", however, as I read down the list how can you not vote for "versatility".
  14. For me a great ball has to "feel" right. Off of my iron shots I want to feel as if the ball compresses on well struck shots and hangs onto the club face a bit longer. From 50-125 yards out I want to know that with my pitching wedge the ball is going to go 135 yds with a 95% swing and about 100 yds with a 75% swing and spin consistently to stop. Around and on the greens the ball has to feel lively yet controllable. I am currently about four rounds into a sleeve of EXP-01's and I like some aspects of the ball, it definitely has the correct feel around the greens for me, but it's durability is lacking.

    A voted feel.
  16. I could have equally well checked several the boxes as being important. For instance I wouldn't buy a ball that was significantly shorter than others or one that was inconsistent or that wasn't controllable around the green. But fortunately, distance and consistency are something I take for granted by buying Titleist balls so I don't have to prioritize those things.

When I look at the Titleist lineup, the thing that separates the balls that do work for me from the ones that don't is "stopping power into the greens".

AVX is a fine ball and TruFeel is priced very attractively but for someone like me who lacks trajectory and spin on my iron shots and who plays VERY firm Bermuda greens neither of them reliably stops the ball like Pro V1x. So that's the characteristic that makes the difference to me. High trajectory and high spin is a winner all day long.

Consistency for sure; good or bad, you need to have confidence in how the ball will react.

Consistency..... I don't want to guess if it was the arrows or the indian.
  19. It has to be consistency for me. From the tee to the green, from my swing to the clubs to the ball. Consistency ranks at the top. Thanks guys!
  20. I voted for short game control. I don’t hit it as long as I used to so the ability to get it up and down is essential to score my best.
  21. The way I see it a versatile ball will capitalize no matter what shot you are facing, it’s like having all the other characteristics wrapped up in the same ball, with that said I chose versatile. Thanks! :)
