  1. I am waiting for the new SM8 wedges to come out in February then I’m replacing all three of mine but I don’t know what bounce I should be going for because I’ve had different ideas from people at my golf club, I play at a links golf course in Scotland so could you give me advice on the bounce I should be looking at.
    Thanks

  2. Corey,
Is there a shaft that comes close to matching the feel and characteristics of the UST recoil shaft?

The characteristics of Tensei Pro Red AMC are close on paper. Both offer high launch, light weight.

For feel and performance comparisons, there's no substitute for testing them side-by-side in the fitting process.

  4. I second that , I always have to buy new wedges to get to 4* separation every time I get new irons

Hi: I am 76 years old and thinking of purchasing T300 graphite senior flex. I am presently using graphite AP1's regular flex. .My question is I don't have a problem getting the ball airborne would I be better off not getting Tensil AV Red AM2 shaft instead getting one with lower launch. Would this affect my distance and stopping power.
    Thank You

    Hi Bob.

We'd always look to find the right combination to help you successfully a) launch the ball and b) stop it on the green at the other end.

If not required, there's potential that a lower launching shaft could do both. That is, negatively affect your carry distance and stopping power. In general:
    - Stiffer tipped shafts can reduce launch and spin
    - Softer tipped shafts can increase launch and spin

As there’s truly no substitute for testing or being correctly fitted for clubs, I’d recommend working with a local fitting expert to determine whether you need a lower launch or not. You might find that staying in the higher launching shaft suits you perfectly, and allows you to more easily carry the ball further onto the green and stop it quickly.

    Hi Corey,
I just won a set of T300,s with steel shaft for a hole-in-one last week (my first). I'm 55 and have a slower swing speed than most (75-80 mph)- (4 back surgeries and partially paralyzed right leg) and play with a large foot/ankle/calf brace). I'm right handed, bad right foot. My current irons have senior shafts. I play 15-25 times a year and my score ranges from 92-103 generally. I'm 6' tall if that matters.

Too much unneeded info I'm sure, but thank you

    Best,

Nice work Tony! Congrats on the hole-in-one.

Both graphite and steel are not what they used to be. Graphite is used by big strong players now and of course steel is now very popular in a number of light weight options. Our T300 stock shaft is the AMT Red, a lighter weight steel designed for moderate tempo, providing higher launch and higher spin.

We’d love to hear how they’re performing for you, though it doesn’t hurt to make some time with your local fitting expert to assess how the steel performs for you.

  11. Last two sets were ap2, last set is 4 seasons old. Thinking about new set. In the T series which would more closely match up to ap2. Currently have 115 g Aerotech shafts and like them but wondering if you recommend a different shaft. Age 70, hdcp 6, Driver swing speed 98-100 depending on the day. Thank you

There’s been some significant changes in our iron technologies over that time.

This tour played model has a more compact profile now with thinner lines and less offset to your AP2’s. Even better is the stuff you can’t see – a large amount of tungsten under the hood in the heel and toe, providing stability and forgiveness, as well as a tour inspired sole design for faster, smoother turf interaction.

If you’re after more distance, then T200 offers this in a similar sized profile to your current irons. So both of these irons are a great starting place for a comparison. I couldn't recommend a shaft sight unseen, though a local fitting expert will love to help. You may very well find that shaft to still be the best fit for you, though for piece of mind, let's get fit again.

  13. Hey guys! I do have Titleist AP1 Clubs with a NS PRO 970 Ladies shaft from 2013. Now I want to buy some new clubs but I would like to compare my old shaft with the new ones. It's not that easy, because NS PRO 970 for Ladies isn't available anymore. Can somebody tell me the weight or any other properties of this shaft? Thanks in advance!

  14. Currently playing 2018 AP1. How do they compare to the T300’s?

Firstly, you’re in a great set of irons. T300 has been a big shift forward from AP1 in three keys areas. Looks, feel and performance. You’ll find it easier to hit higher, longer shots that stop quicker and more consistently on the green, more often.

Looks – smaller progressive profiles transition from the short irons into your Vokey wedges.

Feel – a solid feel and sound comes from the unique polymer core, supporting this fast face in a cavity back design.

Performance – MAX Impact technology allows for maximum ball speed, launch and forgiveness across the entire face.

James, we're never surprised anymore just how many players fit into different models. It really is the reason we offer the range we do, to fit the golfer to their preferences and needs. We see 5 markers play muscle back blades, right through to 5 markers in T300 who simply want to launch it higher, further and straighter.

For reference, T200 and T300 are good starting points if you’re currently playing AP1. Both will give you the improved performance you’ve come to expect from AP1, without sacrificing the confidence you get from looking down at the forgiving profile.

A fitting experience is truly the best way to find the right set for you. An expert fitter will not only dial in the performance you’re looking for, but also combine it with the looks and feel that you’re after. We’re all different, that’s the fun part about the fitting process.

I am looking to replace my current set of Titleist AP1's and was wondering which series T100, T200, or T300's is comparable? I love my AP1's but they are about three years old and I am looking for new Titleist clubs.

Hi Robert, if you love your AP1’s now, then a good starting place might be T200 and T300.

Essentially, as we move up in number through the T-Series family from T100, T200 to T300, we see larger profiles, more technology and the ability to launch the ball higher, with faster ball speed and tighter dispersion.

Let us know what you come up with from a fitting!

On average, because of the loft difference, how much farther is each club of the t-200 vs the t-100? I love the idea of the forgiveness and feel of the t-200, but I don’t really want the jacked up distances. Is the t-100 as forgiving just traditional distance?

    Titleist Fitting Staff
Hi Jake, it really is player dependent. Some are a full club longer, others are more (or less).

Most importantly – that extra distance is only good to you if you can stop it on the green at the other end. That’s why we have our technologies where it matters most - the long and mid irons. We want you to be able to launch the ball with more speed for increased carry distance, yet only if you have the ability to stop it with a steeper angle of descent.

T100 is unbelievably forgiving for it’s blade length, yet you can still have fun with workability.

    Hope that helps! Corey

I just bought a 718 AP2 6-AW AP3 3-5 in all black. I’ve played about 60+ rounds on them since May. Overall I’m happy with them other than how they’ve worn on the face and sole. I’m considering a new set because I don’t like the stock shaft and I only had one choice when I ordered them. My question is in the T100 series and T200 is the sole the same or thinner than the AP2/3s I have now? Same question on the MB as I’m pondering them for the 5/6-PW and T100 for the 3-4/5 I love how the AP3s launch the ball but those huge soles seem excessive. Would like your recommendation 5.6 HC and hit my 7 around 160-170 carry 3 around 220-230 carry. Also want to know if the new irons are a little more forgiving for middle center to toe toe hits. It’s my biggest miss and currently notice a 5-10 yard drop off on those hits.

Hi Timothy, great questions – which I’ll try and answer in two parts.

Turf interaction – T100 has a much improved sole design which is faster and smoother through the turf. More camber and a blended pre-wear design are to thank for this. As we move up in model to T200, the profile and sole becomes a little larger and more forgiving, greatly assisting players with launch and turf interaction.

Forgiveness – the goal of MAX Impact technology is to give you maximum speed across the entire club face. Essentially tightening dispersion and eliminating that big drop in distance you mentioned from those off center strikes.

    Thanks, Corey

Hey Corey...thanks for doing this! I've been a Titleist loyalist for some time having played the original AP2's for a number of years and have since played AP2 716s with PX LZ shafts. I'm a 5 handicap and am trying to figure out how the T series models align to the old model sets. If I like the blend of forgiveness but workability in the AP2s, which of the T series models is most similar or would have similar performance/forgiveness characteristics?

Scott, you have good taste – I play the same.

T100 is for those looking for precise distance, forged to suit your eye. This is a natural comparison for AP2 players. This time around you’ll notice cleaner looks, more forgiveness, and faster turf interaction thanks to an improved tour-inspired sole design.

You will love the new T100.

As recommended I went for a professional fitting 10 weeks ago and after trying 5 different irons the pro and I decided on Titleist T 200s G thru 7 and the T300 5&6 with a graphite shafts. These are not cheap clubs!!! Titleist's launch for these irons was set for Sept. 1 my clubs were suppose to shipped Aug 30. The 5&6 T 300s came in before Aug 30. As of Nov 1 I have yet to receive the rest of my set T200s. I have been given numerous excuses from Acushnet com the most common one being the shafts are back-ordered. Worst launch ever!!!
  30. I want to update my irons from TM Burners to the new T series. I’m a 6 handicap, 62 years old and my swing speed is slowing down. I’m think T200 but as I get older maybe the T300 would be better. ?????
  31. I am 75 and I use AP1 and am thinking about changing to T 300 Sr flex is this a good ideal. I have been fitted for my other clubs should these be about the same I am 1 in. short and 3 degrees flat.
  32. Do T100S irons equal the distance of the same lofted AP3's? If it matters my driver swing speed is 105.

If both clubs were the exact same degree of loft, shaft difference, weighting, clubhead size, all would play a factor in trajectory therefore distance. Primary concern for irons needs to be accuracy and consistency anyway. Moving up or down an iron "number" and comparing it to your playing partners is counter-productive. Find the irons that feel great to you and give you the most confidence and you should play your best. Have fun out there.
