Newport with dark finish

    It's been a quite a few years since a Newport has had a dark finish. Maybe the 2015 Select line? Is there any word on a Newport being released in the near future with a black finish?

    Haven’t heard any rumors but you can always send it in to custom shop to make the darker finish. JAT

    You could always send one into the custom shop and have a black finish applied. Expensive but pretty cool looking!

    I just checked the online custom shop, looks like you can't select a plated finish anymore to a restoration. Even with the Pro Platinum line, you can't select a pro platinum finish, just Black, which i'm assuming is an oxide coating.

    The new Special Select Jet set line is really clean looking. Toying with getting a Newport 2+. Looks similar to my Squareback 2 which I love.

    I love the scotty cameron newport 2 in jet black but $650 is kinda expensive. Considering getting the regular one for $400 but I love the look of the jet black

    I am seeing a lot of people online saying that they have preordered the new "Jet" line already. Does anyone know how they are doing this or are people just lying online?

    I have the same question...would love to know answer. I did find a shop in Michigan that was taking preorders but that stopped after about 10 minutes when they said it was for in store pick up only. Being that I'm in PA and not driving to MI, I guess I'll have to dream about them.

    Their green grass shop probably gets them and they may have a relationship with the guy that runs the shop and got dibs on one.

    I am not sure you can “pre-order.” Could be wrong but release date is 8/19. My guess is major retailers will carry a handful, but at $650, not sure they will be flying off the shelves. Again could be wrong but that’s a little steep if you ask me. I’ll get another regular Special Select and pick up a new Wedge for less.

    They look really clean though.

    Those that preordered the new putter are probably the same the hit their driver 345 on average. I wouldn’t believe everything you read on forums.

    I had a good customer/member ask me earlier this week to order him the new SC Select Jet Set. I was told by our Titleist rep, the supply is very small, but he might be able to get us "one." I told my customer it would sell for $650, if I could get it. No guarantees. He didn't bat an eye. Furthermore, that same customer purchased a new Phantom X 7.5 from me just two months ago. Must be nice.

    August 19 is the release of Limited Edition Jet Set...Looks awesome but gonna be tough to get unless you hit ebay and pay twice release price

    Spoke with my Titleist CSR today. The Jet Set was sold out in 20 minutes after the release posted. I have two customers who asked for them, but I can not get even one at this point. For the heck of it, I looked on Ebay just to see what they were going for. $1000-2000+, depending on model. Saw a left handed Newport 2 Plus listed at $2400. Ridiculous!

    I dont believe the newport 2 + is available in LH. Only the regular newport 2

    Yes, you are correct. I re-looked at the Ebay ad and it was a Newport 2. Not a
    "Plus."

    That is ridiculous. I would bet the Select lineup next year will be a dark finish. Wait and get one for $399 or maybe a bit more.

    Isn't the release date the 19th? How can they be sold out already? How many retailers were they rolled out to? Or are they sold out from Scotty to the retailers? Something does not add up here.

    Dealers can not get them. Any Scotty Jet Sets have all been allocated. But, they were few and far between even when we had the chance.

    We were told by our Titleist CSR a few weeks back, before the announcement about the upcoming release was released to the public, that we could order one/some, but that in all likeliness, it would be difficult to actually get our hands on one to sell. He told us he "might" be able to arrange for one at that moment, but we'd have to act quickly. We didn't even bother to try.

    Just spoke to my titleist rep and he said they have been taking names on a waiting list for 7 weeks for this putter but it was just announced 8/9/22? Sounds like he's tryna resell that scotty.
