    AVX
  2. I like the pro v1, either of the two, v1 or v1x. I really like the titleist avx ball as well. I've been playing the avx lately and like it just as much. Everything that titleist makes is top of the line.

    AVX in optic yellow
  4. Just finishing my winter stock of Velocity...
and moving on to my summer supply of TourSoft...
though I've just bought a box of AVX to test them.

Never really fell for ProV1 - the early models I tried were too soft for my taste and I never went back to them.

  5. I've been using the ProV1x - yellow. I like the way it performs and I love the new yellow option.

I will play the Pro V1 throughout most of the summer. However, when conditions of the course are wet or soft enough that the greens naturally hold the golf ball, I will turn to the AVX or the Tour Soft balls. I feel that these balls give me just a bit more forgiveness off of the tee and with woods/long irons, yet still allow me to work the ball as needed. I feel like with naturally receptive or softer greens I can get away with the lower spinning golf balls.

In a world where USGA rules didn't apply, I would have both balls in play. I would use the AVX or Tour Soft off the tee, and outside of 180 to gain the added forgiveness, my approach shots with a 7 iron or less to get that spin rate needed to hold faster greens.
  9. I'm going back and forth right now between the AVX and ProV1. I need to find my swing before I make my final choice for the year.

I find Pro V 1's so I play Pro V 1's. Thank you to all those who call off the search early!

P.S. I'm not the ball-hawking type but I do take time on those late afternoons when the course is empty to peruse certain spots I know will bear fruit.

ProV1X, always been a good choice!

ProV1 for normal conditions, AVX when playing at sea level.
  15. V1X. For sure longer than last years. Love the trajectory and seems to stop immediately on approach shots over 100 yards
  16. I have been using the Pro V1x for about 3 years. I have tried different Titleist balls over the past 20 plus years and have to say these have the best feel around the green.

I used ProV1 and then I went to Tour soft but I have switched back to ProV1 and I’m super happy!

Switched to AVX when they were first put into test markets after playing Pro V1 for many years. Really liked them a lot. Got better distance in winter months and a more penetrating ball flight. Also liked the yellow option in the flat light winter conditions in MD.

I still play the AVX, but have to admit I tried the new 2019 Pro V1x after finding one a few weeks back and was quite impressed with it. I actually questioned my love for the AVX at the conclusion of the round. I played about 13 or 14 holes with it that day. So next day, I played it again and got similar results. Did not notice any obvious distance difference between it and the AVX, but of course, I did see a difference (though slight) with some of my short iron and wedge shots intoi the green as well as a few chips and pitch-chips. I am going to test of the new Pro Vs and Pro V1x further to see which works best.

When the AVXs first came out I could definitely see a distance difference between them and the previous model Pro V, particularly in the cooler weather. AVX also flew extremely well through the wind. But this new iteration of the Pro V has caught my attention and am considering using either the 1 or 1x, at least, during the warmer summer months. I might be a 2-ball lover going forward. AVX for winter/wind, and Pro V for most other days.
