  1. The Flag In/Flag Out situation is just something of an issue now - the desire to speed up play was well-intentioned but the potential outcomes seemingly not thought through.
Apparently the road to hell is paved with good intention...

  2. Pulling it when we're within 10 feet. We were missing the sound of the ball rattling around the cup. ;-)
  3. I'm following the lead of whomever I am playing with. I have seen no difference from a made putt percentage. Definitely, it does speed up play.

On a split decision, I say let those that want it in go first and those that want it out go last, regardless of position.

Rarely does our group remove it.

I play in the same 4 ball most games and we all prefer to leave it in. And I have noticed a small speed up in play.

  8. I like to leave it in to speed up play unless it is inside around 6 ft or so. I usually take it out when it's that close just because i dont trust leaving it in all the way. lol
  9. Just like Player said two days ago at the Wells Fargo tournament, leaving the flag in can cause players to mess up the rim of the cup when pulling the ball out, which in turn can be the cause of someone missing a putt. Though this may be a rare yet small issue, it could be catastrophic during tournament play

I had occasion to pull it when I lined up the putt and the flag was flapping right in front of my ball. Granted it was only a 4 footer it wasn’t a gimme I pulled it and made the putt!

It all depends on the length of putt for me. Anything inside of 10 feet ill usually take it out.

Call me a traditionalist. I have to remove it. I will tap in the ball with it in every once in a while but I prefer to keep it out. I personally do not see this rule lasting as it is damaging the holes when the ball is removed.
