Pay as I go, never have been able to afford a private club membership & our yearly city golf pass makes no sense either. I can pay $850 and play 5 different courses but each time I play I still have to pay $4 during the week & $5 on a weekend??????? Then if I want a cart on top of that. I always thought the $850 should cover all green fees, then pay for a cart. But I walk so the cart isn't a factor. Most semi-private & private clubs are out of my price range.....

In Phoenix I didn't need a membership - too many great courses that are adorable.

Now in the North East, I feel like the good courses are members only. Kind of a bummer.
  3. I'm a club member and it is perfect for me. I play most weekends and I'll continue to stick around until I'm bored of the course!

I like easy access to the tee times.
  4. I was a country club kid, and generally country clubs hate the younger crowd. They look down upon you. also belonging to a club is more of a social event than anything else. The more I played the same course with my dad, my friends, and his friends is the more I hated the game. I felt it gets stagnant playing the same course over and over again

I pay as I go. I like to see different courses and like to travel a little to play. I don't feel like I "have to get my monies worth" at one course. I play with a bunch of different groups of players so I get the club feel for a pay as you go price. Lol

I’m a member of a club and always have been even with my limited time with two kids .
It means I can just grab the sticks and play on summer evenings and come and go as I like also I like to play the odd comp and club matches too so it’s works out well
