Why does the yellow ball in the Pro V1 line seem to play firmer/more click and have less spin than the white?

Our white and colored golf balls are designed to perform exactly the same. When we are designing colored golf balls to introduce into our line, ensuring that they deliver the same performance as the model's white counterpart is of the utmost importance. This is something our R&D team spends countless hours on, so that golfers can trust that the performance of Pro V1 white is the same as Pro V1 yellow and the performance of Velocity white is the same as Velocity matte green. I'd recommend you try testing the white and yellow side by side, and you should be able to see that they sound, feel, and perform exactly the same.

What type of player will benefit most by playing the new EXP.01 ball. i.e. Handicap, swing speed etc.

Why is the NEW Titelist AVX listed in the USGA ratings as "L-L" for Driver spin/Wedge spin when the older version was listed as "L-M" especially when your marketing promotes more short game spin due to a thinner cover? This suggests the NEW AVX spins less.

I am 70 years old and a 8 handicap. I play 3-4 time a week. I recently switched from Pro V1 to AVX because my swing speed has decreased and I like the feel of the AVX. Was this a good move?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with making a switch from Pro V1 to AVX, but don't let your decreasing swing speed be the reason for the switch. AVX is a softer feeling ball than Pro V1, so that is likely why you likely are enjoying the feel of AVX. AVX also tends to be a few yards longer (particularly off the irons) for most players, which is a nice bonus if you are starting to lose a little distance due to decreased swing speed. However, you should also look to compare Pro V1 to AVX around the greens to make sure AVX is still delivering the level of short game performance that you desire. While AVX is a premium performance golf ball with excellent short game performance, Pro V1 delivers more short game spin and control. Just something to keep an eye on. At the end of the day, you should stick with whichever model you are most comfortable with and is helping you shoot your best scores!

I am 74 years old and hit my drives 170 yards. I would like to know what Titleist ball would be best for me.

I’m currently playing the yellow tour soft ball. I’m interested in the new matte red trufeel ball for 2020? I’ll admit I crossed over to the dark side ;) and played one sleeve of the comparable cally matte red super soft balls last summer and liked the feel.
I play everyday from Apr 27 thru October; I walk 18 and carry my sticks, I’m really straight off the tee and rarely lose a golf ball. My swing speed is slow but I’m happy as a 15ghin. png irons, Studio Select putter. Appreciate your advice - thanks!

Thanks for the question, Suzy! The new matte red TruFeel does look awesome! From a fitting and performance standpoint, I'd hesitate to switch you from a Tour Soft to the TruFeel only because Tour Soft offers better overall performance, particularly in terms of spin and control on your approach shots and short game shots. That said, if a slightly soft feel and the matte red color really appeal to you and you are OK sacrificing some spin and control, then TruFeel red may be your best bet. It all comes down to what you prioritize. Whether you stick with Tour Soft or make the move to TruFeel red, let's just make sure we permanently retire that cally SS ;-)

What effect does the cart path scrape have on the performance of my ProV1x?

Have played the Prov1, after being fitted. Love the ball, its distance, reaction and overall performance. Carry my drives 225 to 230. See the new AVX is a great performance ball. Turned 73 in September and played the AVX for a month when it first came giving a fair test, only gain about five yards. Stayed with the Prov1. Club head speed 93 mph, ball speed 132, spin 1800-2200, with the Prov1. Any advantage with the new AVX, based on my numbers. Thanks, Chuck......

Does the AVX have a Retro-Urethane cover to enhance spin this year?

My driver swing speed is 108-110mph and I’m in the unfortunate category of needing high trajectory with low spin. I’ve tried the ProV1x but spin was too high and the AVX but the trajectory was too low. I found the perfect combination in the ProV1x Left Dash and it has been a miracle ball. Does Titleist have plans to release this to the market? Please don’t say the word discontinue!
