Finally played the soon to be released 2021 ProV1. And to my surprise, the best just gets better! Feel and control continue to be exceptional, and feel off the putter face consistent. What I noticed is the extra yards i gained using the new ball, also, the control around the greens and when hitting an approach was amazing. I would compare it to the 2020 AVX in distance, except now you get the quality and feel of the ProV1

Im a happy Golfer, and I cant wait to order the new stock when its available.

Was able to put the 2021 Pro V1x in play those weekend. It was chilly out but a nice day to play. Being chilly I was surprised I didn’t lose distance with this ball. Everyone else was complaining “the ball isn’t going anywhere today”, I did not have that problem. Also this ball seemed to check around the greens more then the previous model. Took a couple holes to get used to the ball not releasing quite as much. I much enjoyed the new alignment aid on the ball. Made it easy to line up putts. Overall the ball performed great for me. Really impressed with it around the greens. Going to chip and putt against the previous model and a couple others this week.
  3. Earlier this week I came home to a great surprise. I got the new balls out on the practice facilities today. The feel was exceptional as usual and the green side spin was good. The new ProV1 does not disappoint here. I hope to play a full round with them soon.

  4. Got to test them on the launch monitor today. I compared them to a Pro V1 for 2019 and against a competitor's ball. We'll say its a ball that Mr. Michelson might play. The results were surprising. I saw more backspin with the 2021 ball increase vs the other 2 by an average of 500 rpm. I saw less side spin, but more control on balls I turned both right and left. I saw a better launch angle with the driver with negligible spin rate difference and distance was very similar.

Received a sleeve of prov1x last saturday. Thanks very much Titleist. Have done 36 holes of COLD weather play (35-40 degrees) with the ball so far. Played 18 last Sunday with 2 very good players and using a 2017 prov1 on the 1st 9 was a little behind them with the driver. Used the 2021 x on the 2nd 9 and was a little longer than their chrome-soft balls on this 9. Weather not looking good for any more winter golf for awhile so I may try for some indoor simulator golf next week.

Played 18 in 25 mph winds today with the new Pro V1. This ball fits me perfectly.

    Driver TS3 8.5 - Straight and Long

Hybrid TS3 19 - Dropped a 215 yd onto the green and it stuck!

Long Iron T200 4 - 198 yard hit the green and rolled about 6 feet

Mid and short irons were very predictable. stopped on a dime

Vokeys SM7's - as much spin as you want to put on it

Scotty 2018 Laguna - Loved the sound and felt just a littler harder than the Tour Soft

Thank you again TT! It was fun paying attention to the differences.

  7. I only played 9 holes the other day due to having to wait almost an hour for the fog to clear. A little about my game. I am 72 years old and play to about a 13 hdcp. I don't have the type of game that allows a ball to stop dead when it lands. I prefer to have the ball run out a bit. Also, on chips and short pitches I want the ball on the ground and running toward the hole.

Now for the ball. I usually play the TruFeel version of ball as I prefer a softer feeling ball. The ProV 1 that I received (thank you Titleist) did feel softer than other ProVs that I have tried in the past. The distance did not seem much different than my TruFeels. That being said it was in the low 40s when I was playing so that might have been a factor. There were no scuffs or nicks on the cover so the durability seems good.

I will try them again when the weather gets warmer so I can see the results under "normal" conditions and I will post my feelings if this thread is still active.

I got my surprise package last Saturday afternoon it was a white box of Pro v1's. I finally took them to the course today. After warm ups, I took a ball to the putting green and hit a few putts, then went over to the chipping area and hit some chips. Then I hit about 5 or 6 sand shots. The ball rolled very nicely and with the chips and sand shots the ball had some juice on it. I took it to the first tee and played one ball all day. No major scuffing so I plan to play the same ball Monday. I will play with them until someone else finds them or I scuff them bad enough to put in the shag bag.

Driver--Not sure it was any longer than the AVX I now play but it went very straight with a mid trajectory.
Irons--Not sure it was any longer than the AVX but again the flight of the ball was very consistent. Longer irons it stopped fairly well and short irons it stopped very well. I liked the action out of the bunkers, I felt like I was able to go after the shot because it spun well and stopped.

Putter--felt a little firmer off the putter than I am used to but after a few holes, I was able to adjust and hit the putts softer.

At the end of last summer, I tried to find the best ball for me from 150 yards in. I tried the Pro v1, the 1x, the Tour Speed, the AVX and the srxn Tour Z. I started using the AVX and am now hooked. I have scored very well and really hit the ball straight. A little higher than the new ball but I did not loose any distance and gained confidence in it stopping.

Thank you Team Titleist for letting me be part of the testing process.

I live in the Las Vegas area and played over 200 rounds last year.

Received my sleeve of the new ProV1 balls to test.. Played on a cold/wet day. Very similar to old ball as to ball flight and distance. Did feel a touch more spin on the greens. Ball feels more responsive ( best word I could come up with to describe) on 3/4 shots etc. Used 1 ball whole round , so didn't notice anything different as to wear and tear on the cover. Looking forward to more testing in better conditions. Thanks again Titleist and Team Titleist ! Keep up the great work
  10. I'm impressed with the improvement in the ProV1x 2021 edition. In my part of the country (Southeast USA) we have mild winters, although I still use the "40-40" rule when I play in the winter months (Above 40 degrees, wind below 40 mph). Normally in winter, most balls lose their ability to grip the club face grooves and impart "spin" onto more compressed and drier greens. The ProV1x has made some serious improvements in that department, maintaining softness and flexibility in the cooler winter conditions. When I catch it right and compress it, the V1x will even have backspin on harder, dry greens. Bravo Zulu to the R&D department for these improvements! Can't wait to test it out when Spring arrives!

Played the new 2021 Pro V1 today. Thank you Titleist for letting me be one of the first to play the new ball. Played 18 holes with the same ball. The ball feels softer to me than the previous version which I like. Although, I could not tell much difference in performance, the softness was noticeable. For some reason the previous version always felt heavy off the club but this one was felt amazing. I could not tell a difference in flight characteristics.

I wish I could have tried the Pro V1x. I played the Pro V1 for years but after getting fit for the TSi 3 driver, I’ve found the the higher ball flight of the Pro V1x is better. Titleist probably would have sent the Pro V1x if I would have updated my profile. Overall, Titleist has delivered another exceptional product. It is easy to understand why it’s the #1 ball in golf!

Both images are of the same ball. 18 holes and the only blemish was a green side bunker shot; between the sand and the exceptional grooves on a new Vokey SM8, can create this kind of blemish.

So far, have spent about 3 hours on and around the green with these (2021 ProV1) testing alongside the 2020 ProV1. My initial feelings are positive. I have not read anyone else's reviews, so not going off any other information than my own. First thing i noticed is that the ball feels a tad softer off the putter and off the wedge face around the green. It also seems like it carries a little more spin on pitch shots. These differences are obviously VERY minor, but i feel like i can tell a distinct difference, and I like it. I am planning to play the balls this week, and will be testing them on a launch monitor as well. Will report with more details once I have that opportunity.
  13. My white box of Pro V1’s arrived last week. Got a chance to play with them today. I’ve been a ProV1 player since they were first introduced, so I expected to like the new version. But how much better could they be? Well, the answer is a a lot. I played 18 today alternating the new Pro V1 with the current model. The trajectory with woods and irons is a little lower than the current Pro V1. Not a low trajectory, but lower. For me that meant going from a medium high trajectory with the current ball, to a medium trajectory with the new ball. Nice. Distance? Very windy today so hard to judge. The new model is at least as good, maybe longer. The ball was great in the wind. No ballooning into the wind. The ball just cut through crosswinds. The feel of the new ball is softer than the current model. A bit firmer than the AVX. Really good. Spin on short wedge shots was exactly what you’d expect from a Pro V1. Feel off the putter is solid but not firm. The sound off the putter is pleasantly muted, even with my old png Anser. (Yes, it is a dalehead). As I said I expected to like the new ball. I didn’t expect to be blown away. I was.

Thanks TT for the sleeve of 2021 Pro V1's! I was really impressed with the new ball. Great feel off the driver and with long irons. The biggest thing that stood out to me was the greenside spin and responsiveness as I was able to control spin with the new ball a little better. Also, the durability of the ball is outstanding and it lasted a whole round without any major blemishes. Great work Titleist!

I was fortunate to receive a sleeve of the ProV1x balls and have played two full rounds with them.

Below is the pertinent information about me, and what I think of the balls. Hopefully, somebody finds it interesting and/or helpful.

Me: I’m a 7 handicap. I fancy myself a pretty decent ball striker. I only switched to the ProV1x about 6-months ago after doing an impromptu ball fitting at my local course following a round. Prior to that, I had been playing the ProV1; not because I had been fit for it, only because I preferred the softer feel. I have been enjoying the ProV1x a bit better and getting better results with them, so I recommend everyone get a ball fitting if you haven’t.

First Impression: As usual, very clean in that you can’t see seams, stamps from the factory, etc. I am a person who uses the alignment aid on tee shots and while putting, and I like this version better than any others I can remember.

*** Disclaimer: I’m playing winter golf in the Pacific Northwest. ***

Feel: This ball feels softer to me than precious version of the ProV1x. For me, coming from the ProV1 and preferring a soft feel when putting, this is an improvement over previous models.

Distance: Again, playing winter golf in the Pacific Northwest you are losing a few yards with no roll and cooler temperatures. That being said, I think this ball is a bit longer. Nothing too crazy, but I did notice some slight yardage gains -I’d guess five yards - off of the woods and longer irons. I look forward to playing it in warmer/dryer conditions.

Spin: I can’t really add anything of value here since due to the winter golf aspect.

Cover Durability: These balls hold-up really well! Unfortunately I lost the first one I put into play on the sixth hold on an errant tee shot. The second ball I have played for the remainder of that round and the next round (24 holes) and it has held up really well! I typically only use a golf ball for a round and then throw it into a basket I have in the garage when I get home, but hopefully these are durable enough to last more than 18 holes.

Overall: I enjoyed the golf ball. I think it performs as well or better in all of the aspects I would notice and appreciate as an amateur golfer with a single-digit handicap. I look forward to them coming to retail.

Thank you Titleist for the opportunity to text the new ProV1x!

Got my sleeve, and have had the opportunity to play with them - feel and distance were as expected but two things I noticed were that iron shots seemed to fly a little higher, and the ball seemed to be a little softer in feel with the putter as I compared it with other Pro V on the putting green. Wonder if any of you who have been able to test these have seen this as well. Thanks for the opportunity to test these; now if you need iron testers.......
  17. Surprised to receive the "White Box" new Pro V1. Thank you very much! I have been playing the Tour Speed since it came out. I previously played the AVX, which works very well in the South Florida wind. I am 73, an 8 handicap and my Driver swing speed is no more than low 80's when I get warmed up.
I feel the softer Tour Speed gives me the Distance, Feel and Spin around the greens that works best for my game. I compared the new Pro V1 to the Tour Speed: Found the Driver and Iron distances were almost identical. The Pro V1 definitely stopped quicker, I am used to a little more runout. I just like the Softer feel/compression at my swing speed. I have tried the TM Tour Response and the Wilson Staff Duo Professional and I keep returning to the Tour Speed. I guess that Titelist would say that is why they make the Tour Speed ball!
Thanks again Titelist for the White Box!

Thank you Titleist. Have played 36 holes here in Florida with the testers. Off the tee they feel great, very little spin and moderately more distance than the Left Dash I have been playing. Super performance around the green, which is paramount for a 70+ year old chronic green misser. Off the putter face feels good. The cover survives bunker play nicely. (Is this an issue any more?)
Again thank you Titleist for including me in the test. Please forgive my lack of tech skills. I can't seem to add an image to this post.

Titleist, thanks so much for the opportunity to test and experience the new 2021 Pro V1 golf ball. I've played a form of Titleist golf ball for much of the time I've been playing (24 years) and the Pro V1 has been in the bag for quite a while.

Used it today and was not disappointed. Even in 15mph winds and 38° weather, I shot the lowest round I've had since last July and though some of it was some swing tips I got earlier this week, the ball performed just as I'd expect it to.

I'm not sure how much improvement can be made generation to generation, but today sure felt good. It seemed very stable in crosswinds and when hitting into a headwind or having a tailwind, I could club up or down as needed and was confident it was going to fly the distance it needed to. Iron spin and chipping spin seemed very comparable to the previous generation, MAYBE a touch more spin chipping and pitching, but still, very comparable and the putting was just as expected.

I won't be straying from these at all. As solid a Pro V1 as there's ever been and performs as expected, if not better.

Thanks again Titleist for the opportunity!

Had a chance to use them today, the weather wasn't very good, high 40s, gusty wind. Overall, I really like them. Definitely an evolution, not any major changes.

What I like: Great short game spin, feels a little softer off the putter than prior versions of the Pro V1x, more like a Pro V1. Ball is plenty long, maybe just ever so slightly longer than the prior generation, but it was hard to tell in the wind. Also, the ball seemed to flight a bit higher than before, which I really like. Feels great off the irons. Cover durability is about the same.

What I like less: More long game spin. This sucker was moving a lot off the driver, 3 wood, and hybrid, cutting significantly more than I'm used to. For someone who struggles with hitting fairways, it was unsettling at times.
