Unfortunately haven't played too many "high end" courses. Best I've played is Rancho Solano GC in Fairfield, CA. They were very pure imo.

I was very fortunate to play in a sponsors' outing in 1982 at Pebble Beach just a few (8) days prior to the US Open. They had already narrowed the fairways and were growing the rough, although it was already gnarly. The greens were immaculate. The Superintendent told us that for the tourney the greens would be cut another 1/32nd lower than what we were playing.

That day, the putts rolled beautifully, and very, very fast.
