I recently ordered the new Tour Alignment Stick cover from Titleist and received it earlier last week. It just so happened that I was heading to the Orlando area over the weekend, for my son's hockey tournament, and was able to sneak in a round at the Disney Magnolia Course with a couple other hockey dads. Little did I know, that by the time I finished up my warm-up range session, a clever little cleptomaniac decided that my new alignment cover would look better in their bag instead of mine. I know it was taken and not lost becasue my Scotty Cameron 2012 US Open headcover was taken as well, with my Scotty left laying next to bag in haste. At least my Del Mar made it home safely!

What is wrong with people? One would think a golf course would be a safe place for golfers that are surrounded by other golfers. Sad times!!!

Andrew A, that is a total bummer. Maybe we need to come up with a mini blue tooth tracking device?
Kind of like find my friends on the i phone.
This would be called "Find the Thief!"

    Sad times indeed.....

I put a “tile” in my bag at the bottom just in case they ever get swiped while traveling away from the safety of my home course. Clearly wouldn’t have helped in this scenario, but a cheap tile is worth the possibility of returning a set of clubs some day!

Just as sadly, working at a golf course it amazes me how many people accidently leave a wedge or any club for that matter and nobody turns it in. If you have a set of AP3's let's say, what good is a pitching wedge from any other brand. We as a society are losing common decency on many levels and it is sad.

That gets me so worked up.
I am sorry man, people are just disrespectful.
  7. Disgusting really. Seems that nothing is beyond the pale these days.
I once had my clubs stolen from my car boot (trunk if you are in the US) at my own club and it's depressing, upsetting and expensive.
A friend had his new driver stolen between rounds. He didn't notice until he lifted the head cover to drive off only to find that there was nothing beneath.
That Scotty head cover sounds difficult to replace as well as expensive.
    My commiserations.

Andrew I'm sadden to hear about your loses while trying to enjoy a round of golf with fellow dads......It's a sad state of affairs when a golf course is no longer safe from the sticky fingers of others. I had my TT Bag tag lifted while in Georgia last year when I went to the restroom at the club house during the turn and no one seen a thing...

I always turn in things I find on the course, clubs, head covers, gloves, even dirty towels. My opinion is it means something to the person that lost, dropped it and they should have the chance to get it back.

I had my favorite club of all time stolen out of the bag room several years ago. The Club bought me a new one, however the design had changed from the previous model that I had. Never the same.

Florida seems to be one of the worst too. Sorry. A friend went to an very upscale course in the Orlando area, with his brand new Titleist driver with a custom shaft, over $650 invested in it. Took the clubs from the airport to the course and was playing there for a few days and was told after the round they "they" (Club personnel) would clean and take care of his clubs and have them brought out to him the next day on his arrival. The next day he took the cover off his driver and found his 3 wood. Taking the cover off his 3 wood he found his 4 iron. Both were stolen right out of the bag room. No satisfaction from the "upscale" course other than an apology and assurances that it couldn't have been someone from their staff. No answer about how it could be anyone else since the clubs were in their custody in their bag room. He's a better man than I, he didn't make any more of a stink.

I learned the hard way about bag storage. When I moved to FL I went into bag storage at the first club that I joined and a Vokey lob wedge came up missing. I've never been in bag storage since. And NEVER go into bag storage at a resort course not just in FL but anywhere. It's the kiss of death for anything in your bag. Just take your things back and forth and tip the guy at the bag drop. The only people that don't seem have a problem are those who are playing Eye-2's and Big Bertha's from 25 years ago.

I have responded to these theft posts a dozen times. It sucks but you can't have anything nice on you when playing with the public. A thief that plays golf will be just that. A thief that plays golf! He will covet anything nice that you have and he doesn't. I know that it's a lousy way to look at things but this is the reality of today. I'm really sorry that this happened to you.

Used to be a time that thieves at the course were rare. Sadly, this is not the first instance of thievery I have heard of lately.

At our club we have an area where people leave their bags/clubs that is monitored by cctv, a couple of years ago I thought someone was stealing my pro v's, about a dozen disappeared over a 2 week period, checked cctv couldn't find the culprit, on checking my old bag as it was then found a hole in the lining of the ball pocket with about a dozen pro v's had fallen through into the bottom of the bag inside the lining, I didn't have the heart to tell the club after all the fuss I caused, no good to you Andrew I know but I hope it brings a smile

I always feel like my clubs and anything on or it it is safe. I guess I’ll be rethinking that now. Sorry that happened to you. Not cool at all.
