There is nothing lower then a thief . And they will lie and cheat also.
  2. Sad is right. I used to ski in my younger days and we were always coming up with ways to protect our gear when we stopped for lunch. Locks, split up pairs in different places etc. When golf season came around we never gave it a thought about clubs being stolen. I always thought the golf course was a place for classy people not low life scum as described here. Game of honor. Imagine how they keep score!

I recently ordered the new Tour Alignment Stick cover from Titleist and received it earlier last week. It just so happened that I was heading to the Orlando area over the weekend, for my son's hockey tournament, and was able to sneak in a round at the Disney Magnolia Course with a couple other hockey dads. Little did I know, that by the time I finished up my warm-up range session, a clever little cleptomaniac decided that my new alignment cover would look better in their bag instead of mine. I know it was taken and not lost becasue my Scotty Cameron 2012 US Open headcover was taken as well, with my Scotty left laying next to bag in haste. At least my Del Mar made it home safely!

What is wrong with people? One would think a golf course would be a safe place for golfers that are surrounded by other golfers. Sad times!!!

That is awful to hear. Unfortunately, I have suffered the same fate, and since that point forward, I DO NOT leave my clubs unattended.

As soon as I am done, right in the trunk they go.

As you say "What is wrong with people"....

Best of luck with replacements, and hopefully the culprit if found and caught!

This is truly sad. Disney Magnolia is a relatively upscale course (while public, I would not describe it as inexpensive) and I enjoyed playing there with the family. And while you were on the range no less - talk about brazen. We use ski locks on the slopes, not sure what will need to be developed to protect against this - CCTV everywhere?

I've learned many things through these threads and one lesson is being more careful with my bag. Not saying you were negligent OP and I'm sorry for your loss but I know I habitually would leave my stuff unattended. Never loss anything so I guess either I was lucky or had nothing worth stealing!

I absolutely hate hearing these stories...we spend a lot of money and pride putting our bags together to look and feel a certain way. I'm sorry this happened to you, just awful.

Sorry to hear about your stolen property. I hope it turns up soon. When I began traveling with my "new" Titleist DTRs in the early 1990s, I was worried about leaving my clubs anywhere, including bag storage rooms at resorts. Over the years, I became more trusting in part because I never had a bad experience. It seemed to me that a golf course was the last place in the world where there would be theft, but unfortunately, given the cost of the latest and greatest equipment, I guess it happens. Bad guys often know what they're looking for. Incidentally, my old Titleist DTRs were recently stolen during my move to the west coast. I don't think the person who took them knew anything about golf: they were so outdated that they were illegal for USGA-sanctioned tournaments (because of the square grooves I believe.) Though I really needed to update my clubs, all of my other equipment was in the bag too, so I have to replace my bag, shoes, balls, and all the other goodies, including an old NYC subway token I used as a ball marker.

This is an awful story has a better ending - but only because if criminals were smart, they wouldn't be criminals.

Sorry about your loss. I try not to let my clubs out of my sight. Hope you get a replacement soon.
  12. Sorry Andrew to hear your misfortune. For those who have posted about theft at various resort bag rooms, please consider calling them out by name. It might help those in charge know if there is a systemic problem (or person) to run down....

Really sorry to hear about this. One of the many reasons why I don't leave my bag unattended at all .... even if I'm running in to get a beer at the turn. I will either keep an eye out the window or take turns going inside with my playing partner.
At the last "decent" upscale golf course I was at, the bag guys asked me Twice at the end of my round if I wanted to store my clubs in the club overnight since they knew I was playing there again the following day. I politely said No the first time but the 2nd I wasn't as nice. I said "I saw your buddy over there gawking at my bag when he was cleaning the clubs saying how much he liked them and how much the bag was worth. YOU really think I'm going to leave my bag with you after hearing that?" That's quite OK .... I'll just take them back to my hotel room.
It's an unfortunate world we live in these days. It really is
  14. I allways close the raincover on the bag... so just no one can see my clubs and someone has to open the cover on the bag to get to my clubs. And every time I hope that the bag is still complete. Untill now it is.

    It's a shame to steal!!

Terrible that someone has the gall to take something like that - especially as it is probably a golfer!
Sorry to hear of you loss and all I can do is sympathise and wish bad karma on the culprit...

In my time on this earth, I have learned to accept and tolerate all kinds of people and personality traits. You can be a boor, an ass, a jerk, loudmouth, braggart, smel to high heaven or just be plain obnoxious. No problem. But one thing I will not stand or tolerate is a thief.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

that's really sad! these days one almost need to put everything on chains!
    Sorry that happend to you!
  18. I like the idea of adding a tracking device such as a "tile" in your golf bag. I've unfortunately had things stolen from my bag as well, but I'm always thankful they didn't take EVERYTHING.

I tie all my head covers with fishing line to my bag, not only does it keep them from getting stolen, it keeps them from falling off and getting lost

Lol... reading your post this morning made me realize last night I dreamed that my entire bag was stolen! What a nightmare!!!!!!!
  21. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. My cousin once had a set stolen from his trunk while he was in church. People don't have any sense of decency anymore it seems.
