Steve JSwindon,
Tried these balls yesterday and firstly thank you for the testing opportunity
I normally play with the ProV1 and to be honest I found the test balls nicer to play with. They were softer off the putter and had a different sound to when playing with the ProV1
I also found that they went further than my normal ball
Would love to know what they are and when they will be available on the market to buy as they could easily replace the ProV1 for me

Hi David,
Tried the black number ball on Saturday, very soft off the putter but otherwise similar to the red number ball. On the whole i would probably pick the red. I will continue to test.
Thanks again for the chance to help in the research.

Received 2 packs of ball for testing. Really chuft to be asked and have given them a go.
Fair to say though that we are now playing winter golf in a parkland type course which is wet, soft and heavy so here goes.
There are ball with red number and balls with black numbers.
Both look similar but the black numbered ball have smaller dimples. Both feel good and seem like a cross between a ProV1 and NXT.
I preferred the black one when putting and was not aware of any major differences other than that. If I had to pick one then it would be the balls with the black numbers.
Did also notice that the black balls coating seemed softer and scuffed a bit easier than the red but then all good balls do this.

I've played 3 rounds using the test ball (black), longer than my usual ball, which is not a Titleist, straighter and nice feel off the putter. I'm very impressed

Thanks for the test sleeves.
Played 18 with the black numbered balls... sounded loud off my driver but went significantly further than recent balls
Irons - went about a club further than normal on 7ir and above, but carry on 8 through wedge was not noticeably different.
Liked the sound / feel on the putter... 3 birdies (two from distance.) distance consistency was great with the putter, giving confidence
I don't usually put backspin on my shots... but it never felt like there was a danger of adding spin.
I look forward to trying out the red balls!!
Paul BBolton,
Hi
Thanks for the opportunity to test these out - only played red ball so far but after 36 it looks in good nick so regards longevity they get an A+.
Flight on driver good with nice distance, sound off club good, felt a little firmer than my current ball (B) off the irons but nice to chip and putt with.
Course was a bit damp so not sure on how well they compare spin/stop wise.
I, like other posts, am assuming they are not legal in competition - is that correct?
Will post again when tried the black numbers.
Cheers

Recieved 6 Balls last week marked <===Test===>
Pleasantly surprised, they play very much like an Next S - but are a little softer off the club, certainly helps given that I have aggrevated the tendons in my right elbow - and no jarring or big shocks despite the temperature here being between 2 and 6 Centigrade all week.
They certainly play well off the long/mid irons - no loss of distance compared to the current Tour S balls.
They do not give me the high spin back that I get with a Pro V when hit with my wedges - landing softly with just a little release (which I much prefer).
They are a pleasure to use for lag putting from 10 to 40 feet, good roll, distance control was very easy to pick up.
But they did catch me out a few times with 4 foot putts and less. They seem to come off the face of the putter slightly softer/slower than I expected resulting in my missing several putts on the low side. Not a problem, just different and it would only take me a few games to compensate/recalibrate the putter (milled steel face)
cheers

Hi David
Tested the red balls this weekend these felt firmer than the black and a little faster off the clubface. The flight seemed a little higher especially on the short irons and stopped really quickly – which helped me to make three twos on the par threes in the comp on Saturday so will be stocking up on some extra balls – Titleist of course!
Overall I preferred the black balls – for the softer feel but both were excellent.
Best regards
Richard

Played a couple of rounds will both balls.....so the black numbered ball does it for me by a mile. The red one felt like my NXT ball.
Let me know when it will be available to purchase. Great ball.

Hi TT.
really love the test balls you sent thru , can you explain are they two diffrent prototypes as one set has red numbering the other black ?
Also when will these balls be available for sale ?
Ive used them over the past few weeks , in cold conditions and found them both forgiving and highly playable. I have also managed my best round of 76 (5 over) at my home course on Saturday ( playing off a 10 handicap).
regards Grant.

john f. Please leave all feedback here...Red & Black prototype test golf balls weather cold and quite wet ,Black ball didn't suit my type of game it was a struggle for 9 holes. Red ball , this ball was the type of ball that suited my swing speed [slow] good ball flight off the Tee, chipping around the green had a good feel ,same thing with the putter Thanks David TT

Played two rounds with the test ball from my club pro. The test ball felt and performed very similarly to the nxt tour s, which was a good thing. Durable, with appearance holding up well and better than a TM, which is dull and scuffs easier. Other performance issues, could not detect difference with nxt tour s. Would use this ball if price range in nxt band.

Well I've had 3 rounds with the new Test Balls now and all I can say is, If you want to feel it's Summer in the Winter then use these balls. No need to club up because it's cold these balls feel and act like it's 20 deg C.
Where can I get a dozen !!!

Played yesterday with one of the test balls. A Red number 1 on it. First impression was very good, a nice crack off the club face on irons and my rescue wood.
Felt nice to putt with and good amount of check with wedges. I get a feeling this might have been the NXT Tour. It is definately firmer than the S Soft Feel I have been using also this winter time, but feel and touch are about the same. Ball flight was good, I liked them.
I will try one of the others hopefully this weekend and will post more findings.
